All Things New…

22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” Lamentations chapter 3: 22-24

I am so thankful for those for God’s compassion and mercy working in our lives! Even in the days when we don’t seem to know what direction to go or where to turn we can trust in God’s promise that he will be there every day with His compassion that never fails and His great love that will not allow us to be consumed.
As I reflect on my experiences, the times I have felt the most in danger of “being consumed” by life, fears, distress have been the times I have seen God’s greatest work in my family’s life. This most recent experience in my life seems to be bringing life to a new ministry in our church and community. I am so thrilled that God is working to touch the hearts of God’s people to see the need and reach out to families who are touched in some way by disability. The birth of the BOOST-Lakeland, a joint ministry project of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lakeland, and Lift Disability Network of Orlando comes at one of those times in my life when I have felt nearly “consumed” by other areas of my life. What a blessing to be able to begin a ministry partnership that is helping families receive the compassion and mercy of Christ through loving volunteers willing to share their lives with those in need of a “BOOST”.

Within minutes of getting out of the car a feeling of normalcy came over our family. As though we had been there for years.

Like a stone thrown into a pond, sometimes it seems God sends a ripple of blessings which begins with our saying “Yes.”  That happened to my husband and me when were asked if we would like to volunteer at Breakaway Camp. It was such a rewarding and joyful week!

There's a community created at Lift where you can enter at any level you want. All are accepted and welcomed. It's rewarding to be part of a ministry where everyone has something to offer.
