Highlights Work of Project Blue Skies
National Science Foundation
(NSF) awards SBIR grants to small businesses for risky, novel
research with a potential for commercialization. Through SBIR
and the related Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR)
programs, NSF encourages partnerships between the small
business and the academic sectors to develop a technology base
for commercialization.
Recently, NSF did a follow up on one of their projects and
discovered the work of Project Blue Skies. The foundation
commission a video highlighting Devin and his interaction with
the orbiTouch Keyless Keyboard.

communication between those struggling with the condition and
their families. While a personal computer can help bridge the
divide, the distraction and complexity of a keyboard can be an
insurmountable obstacle.

we will Elevate Life in the Disability Family Expanding Opportunities through Communication Technology
for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their

There is no greater sensation than to break through the
clouds and experience the expanse of blue sky.

of limitless flight is often elusive, grounded on the runway
by neurological differences. Children with autism are
positioned to soar into the open sky, but the clouds of
communication and social interaction limit their
opportunities.
